Yes, you are right,
Man is also Nature.
But when I see
A tall, beautiful woman,
Standing, with pride,
On her two feet,
In shoes of, say,
Crocodile skin;
Her hands free
Of the burden of weight,
Talking
To her eyes and mind;
Wearing a long, red dress
Of, say, pure silk,
Which gives her
The image of snow
In the mirror of fire;
In movement
Her graceful body
Melodies of a celestial symphony
Composed with love and desire,
With love and illusion,
With love and oblivion,
As if flowing
In the air of
a pregnant spring dawn,
Through a valley
Of wild hyacinths and thymes;
And she
Looking up in daylight,
As if at the stars,
Wanting to recompose
The symphony of the galaxies;
And I
Remembering
That Nature wanted her
To waddle on four feet
Through the undergrowth
In a boring jungle
Called Eden,
And to climb the trees
For food, sleep and safety,
Would say to you
With certainty :
“Yes, you are right;
But Man is also
The answer to Nature."
