THE AMBER SHELL OF SELF

Though transparent enough
To see through it,
The amber shell of self
Is stone solid,
Letting not a breath
Of the creative air flow in,
With the rays of real light
To infinitely widen
The scope of consciousness.

Step out!
I step out
To fly at night
With the silvery white little birds,
And to walk in the daytime
With the silent forms
And singing colours.

Step out!
I step out
To let the self become milk
And beautifully,
                      joyfully,
                                        mix
With the honey of mysteries;
To let the eyes become the universe,
And the soul enter
The centre of the sun,
With the feeling of a butterfly
Entering a rose garden.

The amber shell of self
Is steel solid,
And fossilizes the soul.
Come out!
I am trying to come out.
